Like humans, animals use at least five different modes of sensing their environment:
Sight, Sound, Touch, Taste and Smell.
But animals do not perceive the environment the way humans do.
- There are many animals that can hear sounds with a pitch that is much lower or much higher than what humans hear.
- Some animals can pretend to look exactly like other poisonous animals to trick predators. This is called mimicry.
- Some birds can trick other birds into caring for all their babies. This is called Brood Parasitism.
